Service Life of Household Gas Stove

In daily life, many users are not aware of China's "Regulations for the Safety Management of Household Gas Burner Appliances," which stipulate that the service life of household gas stoves should be 8 years from the date of sale. As a result, many users' gas stoves at home are still in service beyond the specified period.

GB 17905-2008 "Regulations for the Safety Management of Household Gas Burner Appliances" specify:

7.3 Determination of Service Life for Household Gas Appliances

7.3.1 From the date of sale:

a) The service life for quick water heaters, volume water heaters, and heating water boilers using artificial gas shall be 6 years;

b) The service life for quick water heaters, volume water heaters, and heating water boilers using liquefied petroleum gas and natural gas shall be 8 years;

c) The service life for gas stoves shall be 8 years;

d) If the service life of appliances is explicitly indicated by the manufacturer, it should be based on the manufacturer's product indication, but it should not be less than the specified periods above;

e) The service life for other appliances that are not covered by the above provisions shall be 10 years. Users supplied with natural gas by the Tianjin pipeline network have a gas source primarily consisting of natural gas, so the service life of their stoves and water heaters is both 8 years. We urge all users to conduct self-inspections to avoid safety risks caused by exceeding the service life.
